Yellowstone Bourbon

Yellow Bourbon is definitely, of a superb standard and hence falls in the premium category of bourbons.

Where is Yellowstone Bourbon made?

Limestone Branch Distillery produces Yellowstone bourbon in Lebanon. The distillery is significant as it is located near a domestic grain and limestone water source. Over time, the brand moved from one distillery to another since it was made before settling in Kentucky.

How is Yellowstone bourbon made?

A bit of science and art goes into making every Yellowstone Bourbon bottle and a dash of magic.

First, the grains are combined to make the mash bill. For Yellowstone, 13% rye, 75% corn, and 12% malted barley are used. Open-pollinated white heirloom corn is preferred because it gives the spirit a slightly lighter whiskey taste. The combination is headed in the three stages to break down the starches.

A particular yeast strain is then included to aid fermentation, which goes on for about seventy-two hours. After distillation, the distillate is saved in newly charred oak barrels to start the aging process.

Taste

This tasty bourbon has enough taste, complexity, and balance. It tastes creamy with lots of vanilla fudge notes and flamed orange zest. The lasting nutmeg heat profile perfectly fits the subtle smokiness and dry oak. Taste-wise, there is no powerful shift in flavor after you swallow.

Yellowstone Select

The firm produces a range of tasty whiskies, but we have got to single out the Yellowstone selected for its unique focus. The whiskey comprises seventy-five percent corn, 12% malted berry, and 13% rye. A detailed guide goes into each step of the process, from the corn species picked for its lighter taste to the three stages of temperature the cook undergoes.

Yellowstone Select is a mixture of 4- and 7-year-old bourbons. The name is inspired by the owner’s love of America’s first National Park. The distillery aims to incorporate the remarkable outdoors into this bottle with smoked oak and peppery rye meeting ruby fruits on the nose. The palate is light and smooth, a shroud of caramel relaxing outbursts of the eye, then soft spices carry the bourbon out for a relaxing and hot finish.

Noise

Yellowstone Select presents a pretty ethanol bite and a fair amount of alcohol. Best and extended noising bring out a potpourri of 3 blossoms in spring along with hints of apple stands in the orchard at harvest time. There are lots of fresh bananas, peeled tangerines, and the essence of orange blossom honey. Its spiciness is restricted to rye which couples perfectly with pie crust-like pastry, a trace of vanilla, and simple syrup produced from light brown sugar.

Palate

There are bitter herbal notes of grain, dusty corn, hay, and a prickly spiciness of rye and black pepper. Yellowstone’s select sweetness is masked by dark figs, molasses, and bittersweet baking cocoa.

Body, balance, feel and look.

This bourbon has an even balance, a creamy mouthfeel, and a medium body. There is also a slight tickle in the throat which can run a bit warm if care is not taken. Yellowstone Select provides long clinging legs that drop back into the caramel-colored bowl.

Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Yellow straight bourbon has been on the shelves for a few years; the labeling was recently changed to a full-color, lighter rendition of the former packaging, which borrows from the accurate Yellowstone bourbon label dating back to the late 1800s. It is vital over the old darker packaging, but it is juice within the bottle that matters, so let’s drink.

On the nose, Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey is full of classic bourbon notes, presenting brown sugar and pralines with new shoe leather and a touch. It is also peppery with a bit of childlike cream corn. On the palate, things are light but with a well-balanced heat and the best depth of taste. Like the nose, most flavors are straightforward: Brulee sugar and caramel, cinnamon and orange peel, peanut brittle, and lumber.

There has been lots of cask strength, one barrel, and finished whiskey coming out of young distilleries of late. Operating since 2012, Limestone Branch is one of the latest distilleries out there, so it’s refreshing to view them buck that trend and focus on delivering standard, classic bourbon.
