Pendleton Premium Whiskey Brand Review

Pendleton Premium Whiskey Brand
Pendleton Premium Whiskey Brand

The Pendleton Premium Whiskey brand, established in the Great Northwest, is an assortment of premium quality spirits whose fame has grown far outside its territory of origin.

When your age is tied to the Pendleton round-up, one of the most high-status and oldest rodeos in the West, there is much to live up to.

Quality and authenticity are more than words on a label. Now, they carry with their brand a call to live life to its highest – camaraderie, savoring quests, and moments we keep as memories. It is a distinction we are proud to have earned.

Based close to the Cascade Range in Hood River in Oregon, they combine Canadian premium whiskeys to reach the stirred variations in character and taste in the Pendleton Premium Whiskey collection.

Starting with unique barrel aging in a vigorous, hearty Oak and finishing with glacier-fed waters from Mt. Hood to introduce whisky drinkers to the easy-drinking style that cowboys have loved for years.

Made to rejoice the Cowboy spirit, the Premium Whiskey by Pendleton brand honors a heritage that inspires us to live life boldly, drink well and taste each moment, wherever we might be.

Often considered the friendliest and lightest of Pendleton Premium Whiskies, it’s most often corn-based. Still, a small rye element is usually added to the mash bill to increase the flavor.

Because of the practice’s prevalence, Pendleton Premium Whiskey is often referred to as Rye Whiskey. However, one should not confuse it with American Rey, which must have a mash bill created from at least 51 percent rye grain.

Pendleton Premium Whiskey review

Pendleton Whiskey is a spirit it can be near you at midnight. Great nights or bad, a dram is generally a welcome addition; it will warm you in the cold and add a bunch of sweetness to the heat. Not anything is quite so intrinsically deep and dark. Expect perhaps a brandy. It has been the spirit of aristocrats and the spirit of younger farmers. A few are un-aged and slightly rough.

This brings us both. In this phrase, an element of premium whisky has spent six years in brandy barrels, adding a depth of flavor. Or shall we say darkness? This expression is a slightly different stroke for Pendleton whiskey regarding inspiration. It still has a few roots in the Pendleton Round-up and still sees a few of its production in Oregon. However, the craft is still widely the same.

What is the difference here now? Pendleton’s other expressions incorporate and honor natural elements of the heritage. The bottle celebrates you, every drinker. But Pendleton says it makes a whisky version for the originals and rewards those who look to elevate the casual get-together into a highly memorable experience.

Pendleton Premium Whiskey brand is all about friendship, community, and camaraderie. Values that are not entirely distinct from all those of the American West. This might be the very drink for this moment.

The get-together might be over zoom, and casual might include wearing a mask, but other elements for togetherness and making memories are the same. And so I raise my whisky glass of Pendleton Premium Whiskey to you – friends, community, and the originals.

From a safe and proper social distance!

Color

This 90-proof whisky comes from diverse stocks, some aged in Canada for 3 to 6 years and some finished in Brandy casks in the US.

The color is habitual brown with some shades of orange. Again, though, the legs differ from the other whiskies I have come across. This is not an oily drink, but it still appears to stick to the interior of the glass.

It leaves a ring close to the top of the swirl but rapidly evaporates below it. So you’re left with tiny droplets suspended close to the top ring.

Tasting

Hood River Distillers examines musky notes of leather mixed with nutmeg, warm cinnamon, a hint of ginger, and cloves, finished with subtle undertones of dried fruit. All we can say to that’s… I mean, really.

The nose is faint. I know the South Texas allergy problems are alive and well his time of the year, but they remain…

I wanted to give this blended Canadian whisky a B-score because of a few things already described, but I could not.

I poured a second glass tonight after earlier disappointing flavoring this week, and giving an outage 2nd chance is often a friendly call regarding whisky. I am still wrestling with it. But, as I write this, I find the flavor makes up for some of the other shortcomings.

Smoothness usually does not essentially attract my attention, but it did this time. To say it is smooth is slightly like saying General Sherman took a small tour of the South during the civil war. First, it is a flavor that amazed and aroused my attention.

There’s way too much time on their hands, but the taste has captured my every imagination. The official tasting notes examine the flavor as complete, well-balanced oak paired with hints of nuts, coffee cake, caramelized bananas, and candied figs for a complex flavor. It would be best if you tried this slowly, felt it, and focused intently on the flavors. It makes you look for it sometimes.

This Pendleton Premium Whiskey starts at the front of the mouth and jumps to the back. It has got a short to mid-finish.

Pros and Cons of Pendleton Whiskey

Many whiskey brands are on the market, and Pendleton is among the most popular. But what are the pros and cons of this brand?

Let’s start with the pros. Pendleton whiskey is known for its smooth taste and easy drinkability. It’s an excellent option for those who want a nice glass of whiskey without dealing with the intense burn that other brands can have.

Pendleton is also a very affordable option, which is another plus. You can find it at most liquor stores for around $30 per bottle, which is very reasonable compared to other premium whiskeys.

Now for the cons. One downside of Pendleton whiskey is that it doesn’t have a lot of flavor complexity. Some people find that it tastes a bit too simple and one-dimensional.

Another downside is that Pendleton isn’t aged for very long, so it doesn’t have the same depth of flavor as some other whiskeys that have aged for extended periods. However, this also means it’s generally more affordable than other premium whiskeys.

So, those are the pros and cons of Pendleton whiskey. Overall, it’s a great option if you’re looking for an affordable, smooth-tasting whiskey that you can enjoy without having to deal with an intense burn.

However, Pendleton doesn’t have the most robust flavor, so if you’re looking for an intense whiskey experience, you may want to look elsewhere.

Final words

Well, this is about 200 percent better than Ellington Reserve, but it is still sweating and has a chemical aftertaste that I am fond of.

Of course, it is intended for mixing, but would you not prefer to mix your cocktails with something that flavors well?

I would not purchase it, it is not wholly wrong, as several other Canadian whiskies are sold in the US, but it is not a reason to warm to the market segment.

Overall, we were very impressed with Pendleton Premium Whiskey. The whiskey was smooth and flavorful, making it a perfect choice for any whiskey lover.

The packaging is also top-notch, and the brand has an incredible backstory. If you’re looking for a new whiskey, we highly recommend Pendleton Premium Whiskey.
